Presently members of the GIFT FOR LIFE FOUNDATION are engaged in volunteering their time after work and on weekends to get meals sponsored for underprivileged children. Tokens of gratitude are given in the form of chances in a raffle to be drawn on Fri 19th October 2009 at the Divali Nagar in the 103.1FM booth.
The 1st prize of the raffle is a 46″ LCD flat screen TV. The 2nd prize is an accommodation-included trip for two to Tobago. The 3rd prize is an MP 4 player and the sellers’ prize is an Apple IPOD ( 4 GB). Results will be published in the daily Express on Sunday 25th October 2009.
In the month of October 2009, GIFT LIFE FOUNDATION will be reaching out to children at as many as possible out of the fifty three (53 ) orphanages in the country.
Many orphanages do not have the financial and physical resources to provide help to their children who are slow in school. Some are dropping subjects at the Ordinary and A levels because of frustration. They need extra help to better understand the subject content.
- The aim of GIFT FOR LIFE FOUNDATION is to put smiles on the faces on these children, some of whom are emotionally unstable. They need to feel that the public cares for them all during the year-not only at Christmas time.
- Fun activities are also being planned for these children later this month. If finances allow it, some orphanages will be taken to the water park in South Trinidad.
