CHRISTMAS DRIVE
Our Registered, Non- Profit and Charitable Organization, Gift For Life Foundation (GFLF) is on a Christmas Drive to put more smiles on the faces of our nation’s underprivileged children. We are presently engaged in meeting some of the emotional, educational, psychological, physiological and financial needs of children who are deemed as unfortunate or underprivileged.
On a monthly basis, we try to touch the lives of children in at least three to five Children’s Homes in our country and in needy communities. These children are starved for love and affection. Presently, they need to experience the joy and warmth of Christmas in environments out of the Home. Thus, GFLF also arranges outdoor activities for these children – Fun visits to the Malls, to Children’s Movies, pool parties etc. This allows them also the opportunities to become independent, build self esteem and confidence and improve on their social interaction skills.Feedback on our recent Christmas activities with many Homes can be seen on this website(blog): www.giftforlifefoundationtt.com . (Please go also to the archives when you visit this site and click continue reading).
For the past two (2) years, Gift For Life Foundation (GFLF) was able to bring joy and laughter to hundreds of children from a range of different homes throughout the country. Some of these homes are: Marian House (POS), Rainbow Rescue (POS), Christ Child Convalescent Home (Diego Martin), Ark of Covenant (Laventille), St Dominic’s Plainview Homestead(Calvary Hill), Amica Girls (Curepe), Joshua Boys (Santa Rosa Heights), Margaret Kistow Home( Malabar), Casa De Corazon (Sangre Grande), Angels on Earth Foundation (Chaguanas), Shri Jayalakshmi Children’s Home (Longdenville), Angel Micheal Hostel for Youths (Chaguanas), Couva Children’s Home(Couva), Ezekiel Home (Preysal), Grace Children’s Home (Beaucarro), Dar –ul- Aman Freeport Children’s Home, Wesleyan Children’s Home (Carapichaima), Hope Centre (San Fernando), Mother’s UnionChildren’s Home (San Fernando), Operation Smile (Williamsville), El Shaddai Restoration Home (Gasparillo), Jesus Cares Family Cottage (Arima) and Cyril Ross Home ( El Dorado Road) and many more.
This Christmas we are hoping to reach out to over twenty Homes. Our last year’s experience made us realize that it means the world to the children when they are visited on Christmas Day itself.
Thus, the highlight of this season is to sacrifice our Christmas Day: Sunday 25th December, 2011 to reach out to at least twenty Homes ranging from the east, west, north and south of Trinidad.
We are catering for over 600 children on this day. We are planning to organize 2 Band Wagons : each including a big truck with Christmas Music, PA system, Santa Claus, clowns etc leaving from our office in Central Trinidad at 7:30 am to surprise children at Central Homes and in needy communities to South Homes and East – West Corridor Homes. This will really make our needy children fascinated in a most special way, as we bring joy on Christmas Day.
