On Mon 9th August 2010 the children at Grace Children’s Home (Beaucarro) ,Florence Wesleyan Foundation ( Upper Carapichaima), El Shadai Restoration Home ( Gasparillo) and Hope Centre ( SanFernando ) got up early, packed their clothing , towels etc and were waiting excitedly… from 7: 30 am for the Gift For Life Foundation to arrive with maxis and other transport to take them to Harry ‘s Water Park in Rio Claro.

Little Anthony from the Florence Foundation said he was so excited and couldn’t wait since it was the first time for this summer vacation that they were really going out of the Home. Another little girl “Destiny ” added that she is really thankful to Gift For Life Foundation for making the sacrifice to take them out.

The day was really beautiful – very hot and sunny so the children were able to take full advantage and appreciate the nature trail and all the water activities – sliding down the tornados ,kayaking ,playing games in the pools and many more. GFLF was stationed at shed No.3.

GFLF treated them with lunch from the Restaurant on the Park . Lots of Snacks/cakes /other goodies /drinks were just made available by GFLF. The children were free to take whatever and whenever they wished.GFLF members prepared pholourie and saheena on spot for the children to eat very hot .

Girls from the different Homes build on their social interaction skills.
They really had a ball of a time especially enjoying all the water activities. They strengthened their social interaction skills by taking part in activities and having fun together with the children from the different Homes.
Members of the Youth Arm of GFLF taught many of them to swim and to kayak .They helped in monitoring the children during the day.
At about 5:30 pm the children got dressed unwillingly in preparation to return Home since the rain had just begun to pour heavily .

All went well and everyone was safe .The children were very happy – they had the time of their life .
The leader of the Youth Arm of GFLF , Anushkha Ram ,with a huge umbrella lovingly escorted each child in the rain to his maxi.Gift For Life Foundation ensured that each Home with the caregivers reached their destination safely before 7:30pm.

Special thanks to members of the Youth Arm of GFLF who took the time to journey to the Water Park and to put so many smiles on the faces of our nation’s needy children.
