November Charity Dinner & Concert

Gift for Life Foundation again made memories that will last a lifetime. It’s an experience that will stay with them all forever.

Children told Gift For Life Foundation (GFLF): “It was fantastic. The members at GFLF fell over themselves to help us – nothing was too much trouble for them, they have made memories that will last a lifetime.” This was some of the comments given after the foundation’s Annual Charity Dinner & Concert.

On Sunday 13th November 2016, it was that time of year again, when caregivers from 17 children’s homes dressed up their children and headed to the Centre of Excellence, Torenia Hall. The children came from:

  • Angel Michael Hostel, Egypt Extension, Enterprise
  • Casa de Corazon Children’s Home, Sangre Grande
  • Cyril Ross Children’s Home, Macoya
  • Dar Ul Aman Children’s Home, Freeport
  • Ezekiel Home For Abandoned Children, Preysal
  • Ferndean’s Children’s Home, Point Fortin
  • Florence Wesleyan Foundation, Carapichaima
  • Hope Centre Children’s Home, San Fernando
  • House of Grace, Arima
  • Jai Lakshmi Children’s Home, Longdenville
  • Joshua Boys’, Santa Rosa Heights
  • Margaret Kistow Children’s Home, Malabar
  • Marian Boys, Port Of Spain
  • Raffa Boys’ Children’s Home, Mt. Lambert
  • Raffa Girls, Malabar
  • St. Dominic’s Home, Calvary Hills, Arima
  • Swaha Children’s Home, Penal

“It’s emotional,” a proud supporter said, wiping a tear from his eye. You could see him stifling sobs, as he looked at the children and the smiles on their faces. “If we as citizens of Trinidad and Tobago can just get one more of the children to even smile, it’s the best gift you can give” said the anonymous supporter.

GFLF continues to focus on noticing every child, even the less visible ones, believing that he/she is capable of growing into healthy teenagers and adults. The foundation aims to provide opportunities for innocent children who lack parental love and affection and to assist them to become shining citizens of Trinidad and Tobago.

A SPECIAL THANK YOU to the following who came and graced the children with their presence and performance/motivational talk:

  • Trinidad and Tobago Police Service Steel Orchestra.
  • Don La Foucade
  • Aaron Duncan
  • Body Language Dance Studio
  • Touche the Sky – Moko Jumbies
  • Shiv Shakti Amritam Dance Group
