Adhering to the Gift for Life Foundation’s motto, ‘Giving love towards underprivileged children and needy families’, the foundation touched the hearts of needy families throughout the month of June.

Gift for Life Foundation(GFLF) believes that fathers are just as important as mothers and need to be recognized on Father’s Day. Fathers, like mothers, are pillars in the development of a child’s overall well-being. Traditionally, fathers carry the image of the bread winner, disciplinarian, and authority figure. Children look to their fathers to lay down the rules and enforce them. They also look to their fathers to provide a feeling of security, both physical and emotional.

Father’s Day reminds the foundation about both the importance and the challenges of fatherhood. Therefore, on this day, many needy families from various communities were provided with food hampers and school accessories.

GFLF applauded many dads and moms from various families for being strong and united with their children, even when faced with challenges where some dads are unemployed and possess minimal wages.

During our engagement with members from the society, some dads expressed their emotions and gratitude on Father’s Day. One dad remarked, “it’s a pleasure of being a ‘father figure’ to my family members who lost their biological father but sometimes it hard eh, but when Gift For Life remember us, I feel happy that someone cares.” Another said, “my children grow up in single parent home with only myself to pay bills and send my children to school. I am grateful to Gift for Life Foundation for all their unconditional love, care and support.”

Mental awareness workshops, mental health and anger management programs were also conducted during the month of June. Children/ teenagers at the homes / rural communities need that platform where their voices can be heard. The mental awareness workshops educated them on habits and behaviors that could have increased the risk of developing or exacerbating mental illnesses, or mental health problems such as recreational drug use, internet/gaming addiction, excessive spending, disordered eating and depression, frustration and stress.

The foundation continues to work tirelessly every month giving love to the underprivileged through various educational and outdoor activities. Thanks to all our proud sponsors for making our project a success. In order to meet our mission and provide services in our community, we rely on the generosity of individuals and businesses for support. Without the assistance of community – minded individuals just like you, we would not be able to serve those in our communities each month.
