Gift for Life Foundation (GFLF) is known for its exceptional work towards underprivileged children and families throughout Trinidad and Tobago, providing them with a ray of hope and positive changes. The foundation, therefore, endeavors to serve our nation in a very unique and creative fashion, by giving unconditional love to the underprivileged through monthly events.
On Mother’s Day 2022, the foundation extended its arms to two hundred and seventy four children and sixteen needy families. The Covid -19 protocols were followed, yet the magical love displayed by members of GFLF touched the hearts of all the children and families.
Mother’s Day was commemorated to honor the existence of children who have no mothers and were deprived of motherly love. Gift For Life believes in the power of love that comes with sacrifice. Members from the foundation sacrificed their time from10:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. to spend with needy children and families throughout Trinidad.
The foundation erased the pain of neglect and brought joy in the lives of these children. Hearing the laugher and seeing the smiles of these children brought tears in members’ eyes as the children were greeted with roses, balloons, ice cream and Mother’s Day’s cakes written “I love you”.
Children excitedly waved a few meters away saying ‘Happy Mother’s Day auntie, we all love you and thanks for coming today.” Every moment spent with these children meant the world to them. Giving lots of attention showed the children that are valued, as well as, being loved and remembered on Mother’s Day.
GFLF believes that children must be treated with compassion, respect and selfless love. Apart from having fun on Mother’s Day, GFLF is able to connect psychologically and grow with the children. Generally, mothers have been called the glue that holds a family together, and in a similar manner, GFLF acts as the glue that holds the underprivileged children together.
Feelings of love have no value unless they are given. The foundation, therefore, selflessly demonstrates its love and passion towards the children throughout the year and continues to spread its broad wings of opportunities to them. In doing so, the children feel connected, appreciated and build their confidence, keeping them away from violence and suicidal tendencies.
We express our deepest gratitude from all anonymous donors in making Mother’s Day a joyful experience that touched the lives of the underprivileged.
