Gift for Life Foundation continues to spread love and kindness to needy families and underprivileged children throughout the year, concluding with the festive season of 2022. The magical dust of Christmas glittered on the cheeks of humanity, reminding everyone that the real magic of Christmas was not about decorating his homes with lights, garlands and stockings, but came with an attitude of kindling generosity and kindness to those in need. It’s all about selflessly giving with a kind heart without expectation.
Since Friday 23rd December to Saturday 31st December 2022, Gift for Life Foundation was able to spread its wings to over 300 underprivileged children and families from 10 am to 11p.m. Twenty-five (25) children’s homes, as well as rural communities received food-hampers, vouchers, Christmas cakes, educational gifts and toys.
Christmas Day became magical for the children as they were greeted by Santa Claus with a list of desired toys and educational books. Every year, Christmas becomes a place in time where attitudes are filled with excitement in anticipation of opening gifts that are gifted by Santa Claus and singing carols with Santa.
“The joy of brightening the lives of others, bearing their burdens, easing other’s loads and supplanting empty hearts and lives with generous gifts become the real essence of living” said Mrs. Sona Ragoonanan. Many needy families and children screamed in happiness and appreciation as the foundation interacted with them, giving out food supplies and gifts especially after the Christmas day.
Mrs. Ragoonanan added “good manners should be taught at a very young age. No one is born rude or aggressive, most often bad behavior occurs at the level of the home, school or even the country. If adults want our children to grow into selfless, loving, kind and responsible people that we can be proud of, them it all starts with us- the adults.” Gift For Life Foundation believes that the children’s childhood will definitely have an impact on their adulthood and for this reason, the foundation goes all out to touch the heart of every child.
The purpose of this pre and post Christmas distribution was to integrate fun with healthy treat and keeping up with the spirit of the three -week Christmas vacation. Not only did the children learn valuable attributes such as kindness and love, but Gift for Life foundation also taught them about celebrating together as a family. The foundation believes that the best gifts around any Christmas tree is the presence of a happy family all wrapped up in each other. Most importantly, building these wonderful memories for children give them something to look back on and get that warm feeling of love, joy and excitement, no matter what the current situation holds.
